Paris festival heading for its biggest ever event with just under half of all acts now announced
After this morning’s announcement, which we brought to you via Twitter and Facebook last night, I think it’s fair to say that this year’s Rock en Seine line-up is easily among the festival’s finest moments already.
If you haven’t seen already, then the new acts added to the line-up are – Blondie, Selah Sue, Janelle Monae, St Vincent, Gary Clark Jr, Thurston Moore, Emilie Simon, Francois and the Atlas Mountains, Thee Oh Sees, Kavinsky, Brody Dalle, Cheveu and Tinariwen.
Friday, August 22 - Blondie, Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg, Etienne de Crecy, Superdiscount 3, Die Antwoord, Janelle Monae, Volbeat, Gary Clark Jr
Saturday, August 23 - Portishead, The Prodigy, Emilie Simon, St. Vincent, François And The Atlas Mountains, Cheveu, Flume, Joey Badass.
Sunday, August 24 - Lana Del Rey, Queens of the Stone Age, Warpaint, Airbourne, Thurston Moore, Brody Dalle, Selah Sue, Tinariwen
It looks like there are two huge acts to close out each of the nights although we understand Arctic Monkeys are likely to be Friday night’s headliners over Blondie even if it is the band’s 40th anniversary tour.
And Rock en Seine is not the only festival stepping up its game. After a year off We Love Green Festival is back with a new date, a fancy new website and a new line-up. Cleverly timed to coincide with the dominating Primavera festival in Barcelona and Portugal this year’s event will include Lorde, London Grammar, Foals and SBTRKT.
Anyone else looking forward to seeing how Picthfork Paris, Les Inrocks and FNAC Live among others respond?
