Everyone’s favourite French music mag’s festival returns in November with Andrew Bird, Alt-J and Alabama Shakes
Paris is the only place to be this November. Not only is there the Pitchfork Music Festival (01.11-03.11) with the likes of Grizzly Bear, Animal Colelctive, M83, The Walkmen and Tallest Man on Earth, but straight after that we have Festival Les Inrocks to look forward to!
Generally speaking I dislike any promoter calling their collection of shows close together a “festival”, but I feel that Les inRockuptibles deserve to be the exception to the rule. Over the last few years the music mag has brought us the best and brightest of the indie world with the likes of Local Natives, LCD Soundsystem, John Grant and Anna Calvi following them all over the country (Paris/Lille/Nantes/Toulouse).
Here in Paris, acts have traditionally played La Cigale, Boule Noire, Divan du Monde and L’Olympia, and there’s more of the same in 2012. As usual, we have compiled the line up for you with links to the band’s music videos on the left and tickets on the right:
If you want to buy a 3-day ticket, which will give you access to all shows at La Cigale and Le Boule Noire between 08.11 – 10.11, they’re available here for 99 euros. Or you can get a day pass for November 8th which will give you access to both venues for 39.50 euros here.
Our top tips are Alabama Shakes who are at La Cigale on November tenth and part of a strong line up which includes Michael Kiwanuka and Willy Moon, well worth the 34 euro asking price. The likes of Poilca, Alt-J, Jake Bugg and Half Moon Run are also likely to impress, whilst Andrew Bird is always mesmerising.
We are still awaiting ticket details for opening and closing shows at Casino de Paris and La Boule Noire
